ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses the dispute over the retransmission-consent between Cablevision Systems Corp. and Fox Networks Group Inc. considering the premier of the music competition reality series "American Idol" in January 2011 in the U.S. It states that the dispute was a major topic at the Cable Television Administration & Marketing Society (CTAM) Summit 2010. The author mentions the importance of resolving the dispute before the reality program premieres.
