In this article the author offers historical information on the foundation of the Western New York/Ontario Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (WNYO ACRL), which was approved by the national ACRL on January 20, 1975. He also discusses the 2010 conferences with the theme "Scholarly Communication." He adds that the WNYO ACRL has always supported the concept of international cooperation among librarians.
