ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses aspects of plant conservation and the difficulty in choosing what plant species to conserve and the methods of conservation that are given priority. She discusses the importance of botanic gardens in plant conservation, the need for them to emphasize their commitment to plant conservation, and the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC), which is a project with the goal of stopping the continuing loss of plant diversity.
