The author discusses motivation in the workplace. He says that he is concerned that the human resources (HR) field is not deeply involved in understanding the differences between different motivational factors as the practice had been troubled by its servant nature and fragmentation. He explains that motivation for each individual can be gathered if HR professionals are willing to sit down and talk with employees to get an idea of employees' aspirations.
