ABSTRACT
The author offers opinions on U.S. economic conditions and small business finance. A lack of credit availability for small businesses is seen as harming their traditional role as a major generator of employment and economic development. Banks are urged to relax their risk assessment standards for small business loans to customers who have proven records of good credit.
