ABSTRACT
In this article, the authors discuss the study of Y. Ivry, D. Chu and C. Durkan on the potential use of piezoforce microscopy to examine ferroelectric domains with high spatial resolution. The authors relate the model they used, the cube-on-cube lattice coherence in the walls of the domain in which they say that the choice of substrate is important to determine the coherence. They assert that the minimum size of the domain is the minimum equilibrium size for the ferroelastic domain.
