In this article the author discusses aspects of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision's formal liquidity risk guidelines, which are expected to be issued in early 2011. He believes that this timetable accelerates the need for banks to review their liquidity risk measurement and management. Also investigated is the key ratios for liquidity risk in the committee's proposal and the areas that banks must work to improve.
