ABSTRACT
The author discusses a few issues that affect the fishing industry in Australia. He comments on the lack of a stimulus package from the administration of Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd for the fishing industry. He relates a case in New South Wales of importance to boat owners and skippers concerning occupational safety. He also comments on the method of regulating the fishing quota system.
