New York State Conservationist;Apr2010, Vol. 64 Issue 5, p32
In this article the author reflects on the relevance of his experience of joining the very first Earth Day in 1970. His involvement with the historic gathering began with a discussion with friends on how to respond to Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson's call for demonstration for environmental action. He claims that the first Earth Day led him to change careers from a tax attorney to a team member of a newly created environmental agency. He also describes the environmental progress in New York.
