ABSTRACT
In this article the author reflects on the impact of Governor David Paterson's proposed budget cuts in education in New York. He cites the struggling school districts in Albany due to the inequitable allocation of funds and examines how the Governor's proposal will worsen the city's already staggering education. The author points out the effort of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) in supporting the state's Assembly to address and oppose the planned education reform.
