ABSTRACT
In this article, the authors comment on the research conducted by H. Takahashi and colleagues which demonstrates that optical loss degrading quantum correlations between two distant beams can be recovered using photon subtraction. He opines the protocol demonstrated in the research study could have an important role in fundamental physics for realizing the first loophole-free violation of the Bell inequalities.
