The author analyzes critical studies made on the play "Mankind," during the late English medieval period. The first study was done by Walter K. Smart in his 1916 article "Some Notes On Mankind" which studied the ten men in the play who might have been known to the audience at the time. The second study was John Marshall's "O Ye Souerns That Sytt and Ye Brothern That Stonde Ryght Wppe," which studied the historical context of the play.
