ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses the proposal of the cable industry in the U.S. to offer discounted broadband service to eligible homes with middle-school children. The author notes that this move by Comcast Corp. would promote broadband adoption funding by the government for digital media literacy program. The author states that computers and broadband access for kids from low-income households are very significant as it is their homework and learning aid.
