ABSTRACT
In this article the author discusses the book "The Koren Sacks Siddur: A Hebrew/English Prayerbook," Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks. The author describes its layout as attractive, its translation as elegant, and its commentary as readable and insightful, but he asks if the themes of prayer are enough to justify the eagerness and fervor it received. He notes that the enthusiasm surrounding the book is misplaced and stresses the need for understanding the subtext to make sense out of the prayer book.
