ABSTRACT
In this article, the author discusses a clarification from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) that solicitors should refer clients to independent financial advise (IFA) for investment advice in Great Britain. The author argues that the view of SRA should be of the same opinion for inheritance tax (IHT) planning, protection and mortgages. He mentions that retail distribution review (RDR) is set to create a barrier between independent advice and restricted advice of firms.
