He reflects on a letter by James Fitzwilliam for his sister, which says that Fitzwilliam cannot attend to his sister's request for help as he was also mending his own. The author notes that Fitzwilliam sets an example of courage and perseverance in the face of adversity. He also says that such story gives a perspective on one's own miseries and on how to deal with them.
