The article comments on the aid from the U.S. Treasury to guarantee payments to auto parts suppliers. It is stated that the aid could make little difference in a growing stampede toward bankruptcy due to the financial crisis. It is noted that an aid of $5 billion is too little to save the auto supplier base from disaster. It is stated that with the aid the government is planning to avert a sudden collapse of the auto industry, and not save every supplier.
