ABSTRACT
The author discusses aspects of the growing difference between increasingly sceptical consumers and fund management groups, insurers and banks. He articulates that the lack of trust in the groups can be reduced by trade bodies that represent members working in the industry being able to show how they defend the interests of consumers. He notes that the public will continue saving less and refuse to trust the industry much as they used to.
