The article presents obituaries of members of the organization Music Educators National Conference (MENC) as of October 2003. Forty-one-year member Joe Rulli died on March 10, 2003. Another member Bruce Gustafson died on July 15, 2003. While MENC forty-five-year member and International Association for Jazz Education Executive Director Emeritus Matt Betton who died on November 11, 2002.
