ABSTRACT
The article reports on the performance of chain stores in the U.S. during April 2014. The International Council of Shopping Centers-Goldman Sachs (ICSC-GS) chain store sales index declined by 0.3 percent for the week ending on April 12, 2014. According to the SaleTally-ICSC Promotion Index, retailers' promotional activity at specialty stores and department stores was higher in the week, as compared to the same week of 2013.
