ABSTRACT
The article offers literary criticisms of the books of William Gaddis, Chester Himes, and Nelson Algren about various aspects of Spain. The characters, as well as theme of Gaddis' novel "The Recognitions" focusing on the religion in Spain are explored. It also examines Algren's personal style of travel writing basing on his first novel "Somebody in Boots." Moreover, Himes' work denoting his view on humanity and ethnicity in Spain is also analyzed.
