ABSTRACT
A literary criticism of the short story "Tema del traidor y del héro" by Argentine writer Jorges Luis Borges is presented. The article mentions intersections between history and literature, postmodernism, history-writing, and theorists including Hayden White and Linda Hutcheon. Also mentioned are the self-referential natures of histiography, narrative conventions of literary texts, the autonomy of history as discourse, and the contexts of cultural decolonization.
