ABSTRACT
The authors discusses case study of a 22-year-old girl with a history of rheumatic heart disease and various symptoms, including palpitation, dyspnea, and orthopnea showing endocartitis. A BLAST search of the amplified 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated 99 percent homology with Catonella (C.) morbi. Successful recovery with intravenous ceftriaxone treatment as well as the usefulness of the 16S rRNA sequencing method is also highlighted.
