ABSTRACT
The article presents a letter from Gene Aloise, Director of Natural Resources and Environment at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the plans of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) for its uranium processing facility (UPF) project. In this report, GAO found that the costs of the project have increased, according to the NNSA's estimation. The GAO stresses that the project must better reflect funding estimates and technology readiness.
