ABSTRACT
A letter to the editor is presented in response to a previously published article concerning the combination treatment of lamivudine, stavudine and the nonnucleoside reverse-transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) nevirapine, as the first-line antiretroviral (ART) regimen recommended by the World Health Organization for the treatment of HIV infection.
