An open letter to Bishop Luc Bouchard from priest Phil Little about his pastoral letter entitled "The Integrity of Creation and the Athabasca Oil Sands" is presented. Little urges the bishop to re-examine the history of Vatican II. He believes that the development of oil sands is needed as Alberta and the rest of the world face economic crisis. He adds that the pastoral letter was too late when other bishops were silent over the economic development spurred by oilsands project.
