ABSTRACT
Presents a letter to the editor of the journal 'Clinical Infectious Diseases' on how to best protect the U.S. population from a smallpox bioterrorism event. Argument that successful vaccination is no guarantee of complete protection; Reasons why the vaccination window of four to five days is not relevant in the case of protecting the population from a bioterrorism-based exposure to smallpox.
