ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the treatment of Barrett's associated high-grade dysplasia (HGD). According to a study by C. Ell et al., endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) was linked to low morbidity and no mortality and that the neoplastic focus has been removed over a 3-year time span. A study by E. E. Tseng et al. found no mortality in people who underwent esophagectomy for HGD. It stresses the need to consider esophagectomy in patients at high risk of endoscopic failure and/or concurrent invasive adenocarcinoma.
