ABSTRACT
An interview with gay singer-songwriter John Grant is presented. When asked about how difficult for him to tell people about his HIV-positive diagnosis, he says that he did not inform his family immediately about the result to give time for him to internalize what was going on. He discusses the personal responses that he received from fans after his disclosure of his illness. He offers insights about the lost love themes of his songs.
