ABSTRACT
An interview with American art dealer and owner of Douglas Dawson Gallery in Chicago, Illinois, Douglas Dawson, is presented. When asked about how he chose Ancient and historic ethnographic art as his speciality, Dawson discusses living in Japan and studying in Latin America. He goes on to discuss the opening of his gallery in 1983, difficulties with politics in the antiquities market and the popularity of minimalism's affect on the market for tribal art.
