The article presents an interview with Graham Medwell, information manager for the supplies department of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals National Health Service Trust in Great Britain. When asked how he gained support for his global data standards initiative, Medwell says that he had to raise the profile of the supply chain manager. He comments on resistance which was voiced in response to the initiative. Medwell believes that supply chain managers need to raise the stature of the supply chain.
