ABSTRACT
The article presents an interview with Mohamed Nasheed, President of the Maldives. He talks about many issues related to tourism. When asked about his negotiations with a Chinese company, Chengdu Century City, to develop a series of islands with resort hotels, Nasheed says that he is considering all impacts. Nasheed says that significance of the Maldives as tourist destination will continue to increase in times to come.
