ABSTRACT
An interview with Dacia J. Evans, a staff nurse in the medical/surgical/transplant intensive care unit at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is provided. When asked why she chose to become a nurse, she mentions that the interest in medicine and love for caring people were key influencing factors. Evans also comments on the challenges encountered by her as a critical care nurse while emphasizing on the role that the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) has played in her career.
