ABSTRACT
An interview with contemporary choreographic icon Twyla Tharp, who is in residence at the Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB), is presented. On the matter of her residency at PNB, she offers what will be the expectations of first-time viewers to her work and to dance. Tharp describes how she creates her own material, particularly how she comes up with her movement motifs and ideas. She also comments on the future of dance in the U.S.
