An interview with U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Commissioner Douglas H. Shulman is presented. When asked about the biggest misunderstandings that the public and financial professionals have against IRS, he refers to their perception of IRS as the tax collector. He discusses the largest priorities of President Barack Obama for the agency during his term as commissioner. He also notes the factors which triggered the launch of the Return Preparer Initiative.
