An interview with Gwen Manto, exclusive vice-president and chief merchant at Sports Authority Inc., is presented. When asked about her first retail job, she replied it was of a sales girl at a retail store of Macy's Inc. in 1971. She mentioned that Roger Farah, president of Polo Ralph Lauren Corp., is her biggest mentor. She commented on the sporting goods retail trade and on her job at the Sports Authority.
