ABSTRACT
An interview with Toni Pilzner, member at McDonald Hopkins PLC, is presented. When asked what is to be considered when determining if a group health plan is to remain grandfathered, Pilzner shares that with grandfathered plans, the plan and coverage are kept as they were on March 23, 2010, not allowing a change in insurance company or increase in co-insurance percentages. She states a fully insured plan becomes subjected to nondiscrimination rules when losing grandfathered status. She also explains the preparations for upcoming changes in health plans.
