ABSTRACT
An interview with Alabama Governor George Corley Wallace is presented. When asked to describe himself whether conservative, moderate or liberal in relation to racial matters, Wallace explains that he did not know anything about labels and denied having anything against people because of race. Wallace claimed that segregation in the 1950s and 1960s was wrong but many policymakers failed to see it. Regarding poor African Americans in Alabama who are accused of crimes, Wallace believes that these people are getting fair trials and are treated well in jails.
