ABSTRACT
An interview with Mike Sweeney, professional soccer player and director at the Cleveland WhiteCaps Premier Soccer club, is presented. Sweeney asserts that soccer thrived more than other sports in the club environment in the U.S. because soccer is the sport that captures the imagination and enthusiasm of young competitors. His advice to anyone who wants to start a sport club is to work closely with someone in the business. Sweeney states that youth soccer becomes more competitive business.
