ABSTRACT
An interview with MasterCard's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Lawrence Flanagan is presented. When asked about the positive aspects of social media marketing he responds that the consumer has become the brand. Flanagan states that things that he can't control, such as the economic recovery, keep him up at night. When asked about the importance of digital media, Flanagan responds that MasterCard has increased spending in that area.
