This article presents an interview with chief executive officer of the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) Frank Hugelmeyer. When asked about the most significant achievement of the OIA is past 20 years, Hugelmeyer stated that the biggest accomplishment has been to reposition the OIA as a distinguished trade association. He discusses the increasing importance of the OIA in public land policies and international trade issues and reflects upon the role of technological innovations on the industry.
