ABSTRACT
An interview with a financial services company meeting professional is presented. This professional discusses the effect of pressures being received by meeting professionals from U.S. reporters and legislators on meetings and the meetings industry in general. The number of meetings canceled in 2009 as a result of the issue and efforts in handling cancellation penalties are discussed.
