An interview with Gary Maier, chief technology officer of York Capital Management, is presented. When asked about concerns about the company's information technology and operational due diligence amidst the economic condition, he responds that there was an increased interest in operational and compliance processes efficacy and valuation methodologies in complex asset classes. He mentions transparency initiatives they conducted on third-party systems. He points out the advantages of examining and stratifying aggregate risk exposure.
