This article presents an interview with Dan Reid, co-senior partner of the private equity coverage group at accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP. When asked about convergence of hedge funds, Reid defined it as crowding in the marketplace for private equity. Referring to a recent survey on convergence conducted by Grant Thornton and the Association for Corporate Growth, Reid admits that more hedge funds are wading into private equity. He also commented on the impact of convergence on returns.
