The article presents an interview with Gordon Lindsay, product manager in Europe for the wireless devices division of Broadcom Corp. Lindsay said that he did not saw Wi-Fi phones replacing cellular phones. He said that WiMAX has generated a lot interest and is being evaluated by the industry. According to Lindsay, MIMO-enhanced Wi-Fi will provide meaningful improvements in range and throughput for wireless LAN consumers.
