ABSTRACT
This article presents an interview with FOH engineer Rick Vink, on his mixing work for bluesman Taj Mahal, who is touring with drummer Kester Smith and bassist Bill Rich. He points out that the rate of mixing change he does keeps him agile. He also describes his mic setup. When not on the road, he can be found on or around water or working on his own musical outlet, Bluegill, with J. Bradley.
