ABSTRACT
The article presents an interview with Tashi Tshering, a twenty-nine-year-old retired government dancer, singer, clarinettist, drummer, and supply clerk from Tibet. He shares that he lived in a mountain village fifty miles from Lhasa, Tibet. He states that he refused to cooperate with the Chinese government when they came in 1950 because the government will destroy Buddhism and traditions. He also says that he likes New York City because it has everything.
