ABSTRACT
The article presents views of Julian Vincent, director of Bath University's Centre for Biomimetic and Natural Technologies, regarding significance of the mechanism of natural world for whole range of engineering design problems. Vincent is one of the Great Britain's most vocal champions of biomimetics, an exciting discipline that borrows functions and mechanisms from nature to solve engineering problems. According to the scientist, physics is the same in biology and engineering, and his aim is to "bridge the gap" between them.
