ABSTRACT
How professionals in the logistics and transportation sector of Great Britain witnessed the major implications of the fuel blockades across the country, which were set up in September 1999 is discussed. The government, under the direction of home secretary Jack Straw, is in the process of setting up a task group to ensure that this kind of event never happens again. The article focuses on how the railroad system of the country was affected by the fuel crisis. The commuting public had to examine their priorities and replan their personal travel logistics. The radical changes in travel behavior made during the crisis demonstrate the potential for modal switch in the future.
