Information on the 2001 Annual Convention of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, which will be held in Birmingham, England on June 13-14, 2001, were provided. The theme is that of influencing excellence in the field of logistics and transportation. Opening the convention with a keynote presentation will be Andrew Simmonds, who will address the key issues involved in balancing prefect risk management with commercial realities and shareholder expectation, and ensuring the framework for change is workable. The rest of the first, strategic level day will hear presentations from Lawrence R. Christensen, John Harvey, John Stent, General Graham, Richard Gooding, Mike McDonald, Bernie Robertson, Allen Johnson, Maurice Young and Chris Woodhead. After the conclusion of this first day, delegates, speakers, exhibitors and guests will enjoy the institute's annual convention banquet. The second, and final, day of the event will offer presentations from Stuart Cole, Scott Hellewell, Bob Armstrong, Alastair Duff, Jon Harris, Paul Bateson, Bob Longworth, Graham Good, Jeff Miles, David Lowe, Keith Faulkner, Chris Elliot, Liam Palmer, Howard Hughes, Guy Dabell, Burton Auton, Alastair Clifford-Jones and David Kirkwood.
